Eredi Scabini S.r.l.
Eredi Scabini was established in 1945, thanks to the initiative and enthusiasm of its founder Osvaldo Scabini who established a firm position on the Italian heat engineering market from the very outset with high technological content refractory products, capable of meeting the needs of the most demanding customers. This was the start of a success story, involving major novelties and ongoing confirmations which quickly transformed the Eredi Scabini enterprise into an important reference point for the iron and steel market in Italy. Mr. Scabini’s son Daniele joined the Company in 1965 and this addition reconfirmed the company’s mission for quality and innovation. The list of records grew longer and more significant. For example: Eredi Scabini was the first company to introduce monolithic refractories in Italy as an alternative to the standard bricks combining these with the direct production of pre-formed materials and the lining service for complete furnaces, using the customer’s shell or structural metalwork produced directly.
Reassured by its direct experience, in 1993 Eredi Scabini addressed the market in its new capacity as a producer of monolithic refractories. The new acknowledgements were not long in arriving and the company was forced to reorganise the productive structure after only a few years: firstly, the company’s plant was extended, a new plant was purchased later to cater for the continued market demands. Eredi Scabini currently operates on an overall area that exceeds 20,000 sq.m. located between Siziano (PV) and Casarile (MI). The Scabini family, now in its third generation with Mr. Scabini’s sons Corrado and Massimiliano, still controls and manages the company in accordance with the same principles which determined its success. Today, the Company has a staff of more than 50 specialised employees, enabling the company to operate readily on both the domestic and international market.
Eredi Scabini produces more than 15,000 tonnes of monolithic refractories in its plants, based on formulas which are owned exclusively by the company. More than 30% of the material produced is transformed into pre-formed products intended to be used to line furnaces and molten metal containers, in a broad range of pieces, which vary from 0.5 kg to 15,000 kg each.
In addition, the company is structured to provide demolition, installation and lining drying services, in its own plants, referred to furnaces and plants owned by customers.
Very high-quality, monolithic refractories have been proposed and successfully developed internally from the date the Company was founded. Today, the product range includes hundreds of different formulations which can be used to execute refractory and insulating linings using a variety of application methods. The R&D service is constantly committed to updating and developing the products to guarantee the highest quality standard. The Company boasts a complete range of products specifically developed to implement industrial floor coverings subjected to the effect of high mechanical and chemical stresses at high temperatures, in addition to the formulation of actual refractories.
Eredi Scabini has always believed in the development of pre-formed products. Today this firm belief is confirmed by the market that demands high-quality and large size pre-formed pieces to reduce maintenance operations, increase performance and to reduce the production shutdowns of the plants. The capacity to produce pre-formed pieces weighing up to 15 tonnes positions Eredi Scabini among the undisputed world leaders of this market sector. The Company manufacture ceramic matrix composites too that are used to replace standard refractories and high alloyed castings in the most severe applications. The production process is carried out in a totally controller environment that reproduces the ideal conditions of a laboratory, on an industrial scale. After the shaping stage, the pieces are cured, dried and fired in specific furnaces and only packed for dispatch after successfully passing a demanding dimensional test.
