MEC-IND Srl was founded in Rubiera in 1957 as F.lli BORGHI. Because our activities have always focused on the design and development of
shell-moulding foundry machines, today we can offer customers the most extensive know-how and experience of any company in the
From a technical point of view, our core machines (ventilated discs, distributor valves and motor parts in general) are unrivalled in terms of
their mechanical quality and structural components.
Our technical department, thanks to the use of modern CAD and 3D systems, can satisfy the special operating needs and meet the
dimensional requirements of even the most demanding customers. Working closely with customers creates important advantages that
guarantee the success of any new project: that’s why our company policy is based on such cooperation.
Our international sales network is backed by guaranteed assistance throughout Europe within 24 hours from the request for service (and
within 48 hours in other areas depending on available flights) but the EWON for teleservice, which is mounted on all machines, allows immediate diagnosis of any problem.
Our production program includes the entire range of shell-moulding machines and plants. As far as machines are concerned, we
manufacture the traditional bottom-spraying MI SB (for distributor valves and solid/hollow cores in general), the MI SAR, in which the
box can be turned upside-down to spray from any point between the top and bottom (for more intricate motor parts or hollow cores
that in general are more complex), the top-spraying MI SA (for solid cores) and the side-spraying MI SL (for ventilated discs, pumps or
cores with spraying in the middle of the box). On request, we can also manufacture machines with a 2-spray combination, such as the
MI SBL or the MI SAL. All these machines can be equipped with vertically-split boxes and thus a horizontal box drive. For horizontallysplit
boxes we also produce the MI SAV or the MI SBV.
Dimensions range from the MI SB 1AC 250 for very small boxes to the MI SAR 1AC 1200 for much larger boxes. Special or larger machines
are also available on request.
As regards shell-moulding plants, we manufacture the basic machine equipped with a fork and even a gluer (that requires more manual
skills) as well as a fully automated system with a rotating table for the machine that produces closed and finished shells ready for
The latest device designed with the operator in mind makes it easier to change the box. This means that one of the box sliding bars
can be eliminated during tooling operations. With regard to the INORGANIC process, we have adopted two different types of machines: the one for sampling, which can be combined with a machine that also uses Croning process and the one dedicated to large production
